Adorably Ugly

Only 1 in 10,000 marine turtles survives from hatchling to maturity. Thousands die each year from eating or becoming entangled in non-biodegradable debris and still, even though there are laws forbidding it, the demand for sea turtle meat, eggs, shells, leather and oil continues to reduce their numbers. Thousands more drown in drift nets which are cast into our oceans every night.

This small and furry mammal has always been a victim of much negative attention.

The bat has been on the wrong side of human misconceptions and hasbeen unjustly labelled as a 'winged demon' which is an evil andbloodthirsty creature. This and practices such as habitat destructionand an indiscriminate use of pesticides have driven many bat species tothe brink of extinction.
