Fighting Climate Change

Low Fly Zone: In the coming decade we all need to move to a fossil fuel free world. Not all the changes will be easy but many are inevitable. When we travel on holiday, we will do so as a means to enjoy the world without damaging it. In this future, we value and enjoy most our immediate cultural and natural surroundings. Our leisure and working lives allow us to nurture vibrant and supportive communities, sharing experiences with friends and families that live near to us. Together facing a challenging future.

In this future we can enjoy an efficient infrastructure for public transport, cycling, zero emissions vehicles and virtual meetings. Rarely will we be required to travel for business meetings, video conferencing becoming the usual means of negotiating and communicating with colleagues, saving time, money and allowing us to return home to spend our evenings with family and friends, maybe meeting more of our own needs directly. We will need new skills to mend and make do far more andfor many of us growing our own food will be the best way to keep fresh healthy produce affordable.

In this future experiencing new places, both cultural and natural remains important to many, but more earth bound travel helps build our sense of connectedness and appreciation of diversity, and is an important part of being happy. Feeling connected to the world is part of what it means to be fully alive. This enjoyment of life is encouraged most as we move around the world in a way that is sensitive to the needs of everybody else, and everything else, that lives on our planet. No longer are we disconnected, physically and spiritually, from the world as we travel around it, oblivious to the lives and places we are helping to damage. In the fossil fuel free future we are confident our actions help leave the world better, not worse, for the next generation.

Pledge now to be free from air travel and cut your CO2 emissions now.
