Adopt a Whale
Following the invention of the explosive harpoon in 1864, the whaling industry became so ruthless and efficient that species after species were decimated, hunted almost to extinction.
Now the world's remaining whales face a new threat - drift nets.Developed by fishermen out of a desire to secure ever-increasing profitmargins, drift nets have proved to be one of the most destructivefishing practices of all time. Referred to as walls of death, driftnets catch everything in their path and play havoc with the ocean'secology and natural harmony.
