Adopt a Tiger
At the beginning of the 20th century, there were an estimated 100,000 tigers in the wild. Today the number is thought to be less than 8,000. Their survival is threatened by poaching, the trade in tiger parts and habitat loss.
Tiger bones, whiskers and other body parts are sold on the blackmarket for use in traditional Chinese medicines. These factors, combined with the remaining areas of forest becoming increasingly isolated, mean that the tiger's struggle for survival is becoming harder.
